The IMLCC Rules & Administrative Procedures Committee has initiated the rulemaking process to consider five (5) matters:
- Creating a new IMLC Bylaw, Article XIV - Appointment of Committee Vice Chairs.
- Amending IMLC Bylaw, Article VI - Meetings of the Commission, specifically adding new language to Section 4 regarding requirements for matters and motions will be considered.
- Amending IMLC Rule, Chapter 3 - Administrative Rule on Fees, specifically added two (2) new fees to be paid by the physician applicants.
- Amending IMLC Rule, Chapter 4 - State of Principal License, specifically adding a new definition on the "25% Rule".
- Amending IMLC Rule, Chapter 5 - Expedited Licensure, specifically making changes to the definitions as related to convictions and discipline

February 11, 2025 - The Rules and Administrative Procedures Committee, at its regularly scheduled meeting, approved a motion that the rulemaking process should be continued. The next step in the process is to obtain comments from the public.

February 10, 2025 - The comment period for commissioners ended at 8:00 pm Eastern Time on Monday, February 10, 2025. The following comments were received prior to the established deadline and are listed below in alphabetic order:
January 21, 2025 - The Rules and Administrative Procedures Committee, at its regularly scheduled meeting, approved a motion that the rulemaking process should be initiated, comments gathered from Commissioners only on the proposed adoption of a new Bylaw and instructed the executive director to publish the proposed changes.
It is the intention of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission to hold a rulemaking hearing with the purpose of adopting IMLC Bylaws, Article XIV at its May 13, 2025 meeting.

March 7, 2025 - The following comment was received.
February 11, 2025 - The Rules and Administrative Procedures Committee, at its regularly scheduled meeting, approved a motion that the rulemaking process should be initiated to amend IMLC Bylaws, Article VI, gather comments from Commissioners and the public simultaneously, and instructed the executive director to publish the proposed changes.
It is the intention of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission to hold a rulemaking hearing with the purpose of amending IMLC Bylaws, Article VI at its May 13, 2025 meeting.
