1. ***UPDATED 4/11/2025*** The next meeting of the IMLCC Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM Eastern time. The public notice and agenda, including joining instructions, are now available - MAY 13 2025 MEETING.
2. ***NEW*** State of Michigan Participation Status Update
MCL 333.16189, which authorizes Michigan's participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission (IMLCC), contained a provision indicating that MCL 333.16189 was repealed effective March 28, 2025. As a result, Michigan has begun the process of withdrawing from the IMLCC. The withdrawal process takes 12 months before the withdrawal is effective.
PLEASE NOTE that, pursuant to MCL 333.16189, the withdrawal is effective MARCH 28, 2026. Michigan remains active in the IMLCC until that time. As such, Michigan will continue to issue licenses and license renewals under the IMLCC and serve as a valid State of Principal License (SPL) for physicians seeking licensure in other states. However, absent further legislative action, those licenses may no longer be valid after March 28, 2026.
The staff of the IMLCC and the State of Michigan are working together to ensure that accurate and effective communication is being provided. Please continue to monitor this web page for updates.
